Hi Everyone

I hope kite season went well for everyone. It seemed we had more rain
than normal and not much of a summer, but it didn’t stop me from having
fun.

Remember, we do have banners with the AOK logo and colors for sale. All
of the profit goes to the club. They are $85.00 and they come with the
banner pole. If you would like to have one, just let me know.

AKA Convention went well, the Northwest did gooood! The big winners were
the King Family (Alexa, Sam and Cari) with five firsts, seconds and
thirds from the Northwest Indian design to the painted Mockform. They
also won, as a family, the Special Award for Mixed Media, they did
great. John and Marzlie won a Special Recognition award. Jerry Graham
won second with the Busy Bee Sky Display. Gerry Pennell won a second in
the Figure category. Delta went to Doug Larock. Cooperative 2nd place
went to Dave and Diane Butler and third went to Cliff and Gerry Pennell.
Bazzer aka Barry Poulter won 2nd for Bowed and then won Members Choice
on Saturday night. I think he really liked winning that one. There were
many more who did the Region proud. I went out to compete just to see
what kites were out on the field. Judy Brown came up and shared the room
with Ken and me. We had fun running around and seeing all the kites
people had made for competitions. I would have had a hard time judging
the different kites. Good job, Judges.

The Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival went well. We had good weather, but
really high tides. We had only about 50 feet of beach and the waves got
a lot of people wet. I-Quad and the rest of the guests put on a great
show and we did get to have one stuffed animal drop for the kids. In
addition, was at the table making kites for the kids. Thanks to the
Lincoln City Visitors Convention Bureau for all their hard work at the
festival, they are a great bunch of people.

Happy Flying

Deb Cooley
