Hi Everyone
Well we start another year of kite flying and having fun, wherever there is wind.

Our annual meeting went well. I was hoping on more people showing up for the
meeting. I hope that changing the location didn't stop people from coming to the meeting. We
had a great lunch. Everyone who was there thought that it was a good place to meet. Thank you
to the 14 people who were there.

The Oregon Kitemakers Retreat had bad weather this year, but it did not stop us from
having a great time, and we did make a little money. We thought by cancellation of a couple
teachers and a few attendees, we really were going to go into the red this year. People were
willing to drive to Yakima and down to Hwy 84 to Portland to come. We were just glad I 5
opened up and let people through. Diane and I were on the phone almost all day long talking to
people about the roads everywhere. Thank you to the teachers who made it to the retreat: Martin
Lester, Dave Ellis, Dave Butler, Linda Larkey, Bary Crites, Mark Engbaum, Jerimy Colbert, and
Deb Cooley. You all did a great job! And thanks for all of the hard work from the OKR

At the Annual Meeting we talked about a few things, like I wish more of the area reps
would put in more articles for the newsletter. Ronda Brewer was the top article contributor with
21, Alan Fossum had 11, Miriam Schafler and Diane Weber had 10 each. So please take the
time to write something and send it to Marzlie, so she can put into the newsletter. Thank you to
the people who take the time to do so.

We are starting the Kite Festival in a Bag II. So don’t be surprised when I come up to
you and ask for a donation. I would like to get things together real soon.

And I am happy to say that I, Diva Deb, am your President , Ken Tumminia is the Vice
President, Diane Weber is our Treasurer, Ronda Brewer is the Secretary, And the other Board
members are Jerimy Colbert, Doc Counce, Lindsey Johnson, and our new board member is Amy
Doran. Thank you to all of you for helping keep the club going. And if there is anything you need,
or would like to see changed about the club, please let one of us know.
